Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is finally coming to a close.  I had heard stories about how this time of year was supposed to be chaotic, full of fireworks, and tons of people.  However, it hasn't actually been that bad!  There were some fireworks, but not nearly as many as I thought there would be.  Our cat had a hard time with the fireworks though...one morning she dove under my covers to hide from the noise :)  Made me smile.
For the majority of this vacation, I enjoyed a staycation.  It has been quite enjoyable waking up late, being lazy, goofing off, watching movies, and hanging out with friends.  On Friday, a few of us went to Suzhou (a city nearby, about 10 minutes on the fast train.)  It is a popular destination for our staff since there are a number of foreign stores there that aren't here.  We enjoyed an afternoon at Coldstone, the DVD store (a place I always spend way to much money....), foreign import food store, and an AWESOME TexMex restaurant.
I officially purchased my tickets to go home for the summer a few weeks ago.  I leave on June 10th!!!  I am really looking forward to going home, visiting friends and family, and stocking up on stuff from America.
It's hard to believe that we only have about 3 months left in school!  School has been FLYING by!  Before I know it, my kindergartners will be graduating, and moving up to 1st grade.  I can't believe that I'm close to finishing my 2nd year of teaching...golly does time zoom by as you grow up!  School starts up again tomorrow...it will be hard to readjust to that schedule.  Hopefully, it will be easy!
